The Central One Football Association (COFA) Disciplinary Committee has taken decisive action against Kroo Town Road Rangers (KTR) following a protest lodged by Soja Tong Football Community.
KTR has been disqualified from this year’s competition after fielding an ineligible player, Abu Bakar Turay, who was banned by the Western Area Football Association (WAFA) on 17th July 2024 from all football-related activities.
The ruling came after the COFA Disciplinary Committee reviewed sufficient evidence presented by Soja Tong.
As an affiliate of WAFA, COFA is bound by its regional body’s decisions, which apply to all COFA-related activities.
The committee found KTR in violation of these rules by including the banned player in their lineup.
As a result, three points have been awarded to Soja Tong, allowing them to advance to the quarterfinals, while Kroo Town Road Rangers has been disqualified from this year’s competition.
This ruling reinforces COFA’s commitment to maintaining fair play and upholding the integrity of the tournament.
