East End Lions Coach, Gerald Hunter has said that he is optimistic that his team will win the League this season despite failing to beat Old Edwardians on Sunday.
Reacting to the draw, Coach Hunter said the draw on Sunday was a vital point for his team.
The Killers came from behind twice in the first after a free kick and penalty from Old Edwardians skipper Mohamed Kamara put them behind.
The 2019 Champions thought the match was going to be an easy workout but they faced a monumental task from an invigorated Old Edwardians team.
“I knew that we made a couple of mistakes in the match but I’m disappointed with the officials. They have an easy penalty and blew the match over with over one minutes left to play,” Coach Hunter protested.
He said that his team will continue to hunt for more despite the long lead by defending champions, Mighty Blackpool.
“We still have hopes and we have matches to play,” Hunter said.
East End Lions are perceived to be among the front runners for the title this season after third place Mighty Blackpool have dropped 7 points in just two weeks.
The Killers, also recently defeated rivals second place FC Kallon on home turf before their match on Sunday.
Bo Rangers are now leading the League with 13 points after 31 games.
