East End Lions Football Club has lodged a formal complaint with the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Referees Committee against Referee Rashid M. Conteh, alleging biased and substandard officiating during their recent match against Bo Rangers. The game took place on February 15, 2025, at the Southern Arena.

The club cites several questionable decisions by Referee Conteh that appeared to favor Bo Rangers, compromising fair play and the integrity of the match. Key incidents highlighted in the complaint include a contentious penalty awarded to Bo Rangers immediately after halftime, despite a lack of clear justification, and the denial of a clear penalty for East End Lions FC, despite evident contact and appeals from players and spectators.

East End Lions FC alleges a pattern of questionable calls by Referee Conteh in matches involving the club, particularly against Bo Rangers. They point to a previous match between the two teams on May 27, 2023, also officiated by Conteh at the Southern Arena, which resulted in a similarly contentious outcome.

This repeated pattern raises concerns about Conteh’s impartiality and consistency, the club states.

East End Lions FC has submitted video evidence and detailed reports to the SLFA Referees Committee to support their claims. They are requesting a thorough review of the match footage and officiating decisions, as well as an independent investigation into Referee Conteh’s conduct and previous matches where similar issues have been reported.

The club emphasized its commitment to fair play, sportsmanship, and integrity in football. This complaint, they say, reflects their dedication to ensuring all matches are officiated impartially and according to the rules.

East End Lions FC expressed confidence that the SLFA will address the matter with due urgency and seriousness to protect the integrity of football in Sierra Leone.
