The East End Lions Football ball Club has issued a press release disassociates itself from the position of the Union of Premier League Clubs Boycott.
The release stated that the attention of East East End Lions Football Club has been drawn to Premier League Clubs dated 21st March 2022 calling for immediate Suspension of the ongoing Sierra Leone Premier League.
The Management of East End Lions Wishes to state the following ;
That they consider the action of the Union of Premier League Clubs to be unfortunate and Exhibit a total disregard for the time, efforts and resources that they have expanded throughout this season.
The Management believes that the Union has no authority under its mandate to suspend a competition over which it exercises no Legal Supervision and control.
The release Pointed out that East End Lions FC unlike the Union of Premier League Clubs is a registered member of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) and is bound under Article13 of its statutes to comply with its directives, Regulations, and resolutions at all times.
The release concludes that East End Lions FC completely disassociates itself from this actions/decision announced by this Union and entreats the SLFA to assume leadership role they are expected to take in accordance with the statute expected..
That the team will continue to honor all its league matches till the end of the season.
That the Club will like to affirm its commitment to ensuring the principle of fair play in the game of football at all times.
That the club calls on its numerous Supporters, sponsors , and we’ll wishers nationwide to discountenance the said press release.
East End Lions further wishes to affirm its position this foot league season must be concluded on the football pitch and not through unsportsmanlike releases , surreptitious meetings, and questionable motives.
Finally, the release concludes that the club wishes to announce that it will host East End Tigers FC in Makeni on Saturday , 30th March, 2022 in the ongoing Sierra Leone Premier League
