FC Kallon is on the verge of reaching the group stage of the second-tier competition of African Club Football if they defeat Dreams FC at the SKD Stadium, today, 30th September 2023.
Dreams FC had a 2-1 win against FC Kallon in the first-leg at the Accra Sport stadium but the Cavaliers are looking forward to changing the narrative to qualify to the CAF confederation cup group stage for the first time.
According to the club manager, Mohamed Kallon a win for FC Kallon is a big win to Sierra Leone and It will definitely be the turning point for Sierra Leone football.
In a strategic move to address concerns raised by their Ghanaian opponents, FC Kallon recently announced a change in the venue for their upcoming home match against Dreams FC (Ghana) in the return leg of the CAF Confederation Cup Preliminary Round.
The said match was originally scheduled to take place at the Southern Arena in Bo, Sierra Leone, the match will now be held at the Samuel Kanyon Doe (SKD) Stadium in Monrovia, Liberia.
It’s important to note that the date of the match remains unchanged, and it will still be held on today, Saturday 30th of September 2023
In 2004, CAF merged the African Cup Winners’ Cup created in 1975 with the CAF Cup introduced in 1992 to form a new competition called the Confederation Cup, which has since been considered the second African club competition.
