The 1st edition of the Coal City International Cup has reached a crucial stage. Sierra Leone’s FC Kallon suffered a 1-0 defeat against Shooting Stars, a top Nigerian Premier League club, in the semifinals of the Coal City Cup pre-season tournament in Enugu. The match showcased brilliant skill and unwavering determination.

This defeat followed FC Kallon’s earlier impressive 1-1 draw against Rangers International. Both teams created chances, but Shooting Stars secured the lead to qualify for the finals.

The Coal City Cup provides teams with a platform to prepare for the new season. Remo Stars’ win will be remembered as a highlight of this year’s competition.

Shooting Stars previously played to a 2-2 draw against the host team, Coal City. FC Kallon needed a win to move into the finals, but the result didn’t favor them.

Meanwhile, one of the organizers of the tournament, IfeanyiChukwu Ogbu, expressed his satisfaction with the conduct of all six participating teams so far. “We have many reasons to rejoice, but I am particularly happy that all the teams have displayed a high level of discipline and professionalism,” he said.
