Sierra Queens has suffered 4-1 defeat against the scorpion Queens of Gambia in their first Match against the scorpion Queens of Gambia. The player behind this defeat is Gambia Prolific youngster Catherine Jatta.
Catherine Jatta inspired Gambia to a comfortable 1-4 victory against Sierra Leone in day two of the WAFU Zone A Women’s football Championship in Sal, Cape Verde.
The youngster scored the fastest goal of the tournament history with a little over a minute on the clock to put the Women’s Scorpions in the lead. The Police FC forward added her second to two before the break to keep Sierra Queens at bay.
She was awarded The Woman of the Match Award after Scoring a super Hatrick (4 goals) as the Gambia hammered Sierra Leone in the their Opening Game of the WAFU Seniors Women’s Tournament Cape Verde 2023
The player of the match resumed to add two more goals to earn her the quadruple while the Sierra Queens could pull only one back as consolation.
Catherine was voted the most outstanding player decorated by Wafu with a deserved award.
Sierra Queens will face Guinea in their second match on Monday 23rd January, 2023.
The team will play their final match in the group stage against Senegal on Wednesday 25th January 2023.
This is the second time Sierra Queens has surfaced in the competition.
