The Government of Sierra Leone under His Excellency President Brig. (Rtd) Dr. Julius MAADA Bio has continued its financial support to the Sierra Leone National Football Team – Leone Stars ahead of three friendly matches in Turkey starting today.

Below is the direct package to players from the Government, in addition to flight tickets, feeding and accommodation:

1. $2000- appearance fees (over Le 20,000,000) per player
2. $6000- total appearance fees for the three matches (over Le 60,000,000) per player
3. $1500- winning bonus (over Le 15,000,000) per player

Local based player Alie CONTEH is making his debut for the national team. He expressed his delight after receiving such amount for the first time:

“This is unbelievable! My emotions cannot allow me speak that much. All I’d say at this moment is a big thanks to the Government of President Bio”.

Leone Stars opened their friendlies in a 3-0 defeat against Togo on Thursday.
