Furious, displeased, and shattered was the mode of Kallum Cesay during the first training session of the Leone Starts after their 2-1 defeat to Nigeria.
Sources close to the camp told me the lad’s frustration started boiling out after he was left out of the first team and eventually was never used in the Nigeria game. His attitude and behavior in the camp drastically changed.
In Guinea during the team’s training session, the lad was seen working out of the field, dropping his vest to the ground with frustration and using the ‘F’ word in dismay.
Meanwhile, I was told that during the training session he disagreed with Kwame Quee which led to him making a certain comment, on hearing that, the coach then asked him out of the pitch which lead to his disrespectful behavior.
Some senior officials of the team tried to caution and talk to him but he could not listen, until the team Team Manager went into the team bus and spoke with him, where he had gone seating alone. A few seconds later, the player was again seen in grief working out of the pitch seeking loneliness in the bus. We were told by a close source that Kwame jokingly threw water on him which led to his second walk out.
After the training, we were unable to talk to the player, the coach, officials, and other players on the matter. But a senior journalist told me the team will state that shortly.
Away from that, the team held their training session successfully. Their final training is scheduled for Sunday before taking on Guinea Bissau on Monday.
Indiscipline has been a great problem within the Leone Starts team for years now, if nothing is done towards curbing it, the team will continue to drown no matter the crop of players they may have.
