Mohamed Kallon, head coach of the Sierra Leone national team and owner of FC Kallon, has been suspended and fined following a disciplinary ruling over unsportsmanlike conduct during a Premier League match against Bhantal FC.
The decision was announced after a review by the Premier League disciplinary committee, which found Kallon culpable of misconduct directed at match officials during the fixture.
According to the committee’s ruling, the behaviour was deemed inconsistent with the exemplary character and sportsmanship expected of a senior coach.
In its findings, the disciplinary committee noted that Kallon’s actions went beyond the match officials and had an impact on other coaches and club officials present at the game. The ruling stressed that such conduct falls short of the standards required to protect the integrity of the league and respect for its officials.
The sanctions imposed include a multi-match suspension, which will be served concurrently, as well as financial penalties. Fines were levied against both Mohamed Kallon personally and his club, FC Kallon, the committee said.
The ruling further confirmed that this marks the first official disciplinary action in which Kallon has been cited for unsportsmanlike conduct.
The Premier League disciplinary committee said the measures were taken in line with existing regulations and were intended to reinforce discipline, respect for match officials, and proper conduct within the league.
