Kei Kamara, a former Leone Stars striker, has left Chicago after being chosen to participate in the 2023 MLS All-Star match against Arsenal.
Kamara is one of twenty-six players who will represent Major League Soccer against Arsenal in the 2023 MLS All-Star game at D.C. United’s Audi Field. The match is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.
During his first year with the Chicago Fire, Kamara emerged as the leading goal scorer for the club, netting five goals in 16 games. He holds the distinction of being the only player in league history to have played for ten different teams throughout his career.
Kamara’s selection for the MLS All-Star team was determined through a combined vote involving fans, media, and players. Head coach Wayne Rooney of the host team, D.C. United, selected twelve players, while MLS Commissioner Don Garber chose two players for the team.
