The Sierra Leone national male football team head coach, John Keister has appointed Queens Park Rangers (QPR) side-back, Osman Kakay as captain for the Guinea-Bissau match.

The Westminster-born right back made his debut for the Leone Stars at the age of 23 against Ethiopia.

The 25-year-old played all three matches for the Leone Stars in the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon but missed their 3-2 loss to Nigeria in their last qualifying match.

The team’s captain former Liverpool defender, Steven Caulker is missing from the squad with pundits speculating an injury.

Sierra Leone has already failed to qualify for AFCON finals next year in Ethiopia but the FA Vice-President, Harold Nat-Williams said the match is equally important for team.

Leone Stars will play their final match against the Djurtus Wild Dogs of Guinea-Bissau this afternoon at the Estádio 24 de Setembro in Bissau.
