Sierra Leone’s national team, the Leone Stars, have safely arrived in Monrovia, Liberia, ahead of their crucial encounter with Burkina Faso at the SKD Stadium on Wednesday, 8th October 2025.

According to the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), the team will be accommodated at the Murex Plaza Hotel and Suites, located just 1.69 km from the stadium.

“The players are in high spirits, boosted by their recent victory over Ethiopia in Monrovia,” the SLFA stated.

As part of preparations, the Leone Stars are expected to hold several training sessions over the next four days.

Following the Burkina Faso fixture, Sierra Leone will play their final group match against Djibouti on Sunday, 12th October 2025, at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca, Morocco. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:00 GMT.

The SLFA also confirmed a late change to the squad, with Santigie Koroma replacing Citta Bah. “Leone Stars head coach Mohamed Kallon has made a late adjustment to the squad ahead of Wednesday’s decisive World Cup qualifying fixture,” the FA announced.
