Sierra Leone’s senior national male team, Leone Stars has dropped to 108 best football playing country in the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday.

Compared to January where it ranked 107, Sierra Leone has now moved down one place and now ranks 108 despite winning two games out of three in its recent International friendlies.

Sierra Leone having gathered just 1173.89 points moved lower ranking 24th in Africa.

Sierra Leone had set up a training camp during this month’s FIFA window as part of preparations ahead of the 2023 Ivory coast African Cup of Nations Qualifiers starting in June.

After the Leone Stars opening 3:0 defeat to Togo at the Mardan Stadium on March 24th, they went on to win their remaining two matches against Liberia and Congo Brazzaville 1.0 on March 27th and 2:1 on March 29th, respectively.

Senegal currently sits at the 1st position in Africa and 20th position in the world ranking.

Behind Senegal are Morocco, the second-best team in Africa, while Nigeria are the third-best team in Africa. Behind Nigeria are Egypt, Tunisia and Cameroon in fourth, fifth and sixth place, respectively.

However, Brazil is the number one best team in the world, followed by Belgium, France, Argentina, England, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Mexico, Netherlands, making the top 10.

Others that made the list from 11-20 positions are Denmark, Germany, Uruguay, Switzerland, USA, Croatia, Colombia, Wales, Sweden, and Senegal.
