Leone Stars’ first choice goalkeeper Mohamed N. Kamara (a.k.a. Fabiaski) has revealed that his newly constructed ultra-modern mansion is worth over one hundred and fifty thousand United States dollars.

The goalie says cash to build the house was generated primarily from his service to Leone Stars over the years.

“I never thought of this great achievement so soon. I owe it to the Government of President Bio for its unending financial support to Leone Stars.

“Every single cent I used to construct my house was money I received from the government of President Julius Maada Bio as a footballer for the national team.

“As a poor boy from Sendugu Village with 22 houses in Kambia District, I have changed the lives of my family members.

Football means everything to me. It has not only given me the financial strength to achieve, but has also taken me to places around the world, provided me with lucrative employment opportunities from different clubs, and made me famous not only at national level but at continental and global levels,” Kamara explained.

Going back in time, the 24-year-old said it was difficult for him to get even one meal.

“What I got from club football was not enough to address my financial needs. With government’s support to Leone Stars, which I have been benefiting from since 2018, I have been able to surmount these challenges. I thank Allah for directing me to the right path,” he added.

Kamara’s rise to prosperity from an overt humble beginning is one among hundreds of similar cases. Most national team players and technical staff are constructing houses and establishing business entities, a reality that is creating employment for other Sierra Leoneans.

Government has changed the lives of over seven thousand athletes across ten sporting disciplines.

A lover of young people, NSA Boss Dr. Saffa Abdulai has already created the institutional framework to double down on President Bio’s national commitment to investing in sports and to closing quite significantly the youth unemployment gap.

The National Sports Authority is an agency of Government established by an Act of Parliament with the mandate to promote, encourage, develop, and supervise all sports and sporting activities in Sierra Leone and to provide for other related matters.
