Mohamed Kamara is Sierra Leonean Homebased goal keeper. He is a current stopper for East Lions Football Club and currently serves as first choice Goalkeeper for Leone Stars.
Kamara made his breakthrough in the Sierra Leone national team after the resignation of former Leone Stars goal Keeper Solomon Zombo Morris during the 2021 AFCON qualification.
Kamara has risen quickly through the ranks of goal keeping . He had represented Sierra Leone in many Youth Tournaments. Notable amongst these tournaments are the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) and CAF youth Competitions.
Despite many criticism after being chosen by Coach John Kiesta as first choice, he was able to prove many of his critics wrong by putting up great performances and excellent composure in the AFCON Qualifiers. Perhaps the doubters should have listened to Coach John Kiesta.
Kamara has exceptional goal keeping qualities, key among them are his distribution skills, hyper -observant nature, and his acrobatic skills were reasons that seduced coach Kiester to make him his first choice
The young goal keeper is about 6feet 2 inches tall, Though he might not filled the goal with his stature but he serves as a vibrant personality who lifts those around him and also serves as a major obstacles to many strikers while Manning the goal
Kamara was very instrumental in helping Leone Stars to qualify for the 2021 AFCON Competition. He made crucial saves in the decisive match between Benin and Leone Stars which facilitated Leone Stars qualification to the Upcoming AFCON Competition in Cameroon
The acrobatic goal keeper is set to showcase his skills in the biggest stage of African football in Cameroon. He is the current first choice amongst the three goal keeper Coach John Kiesta selected for the AFCON Competition
