The Leone Stars are set for their critical 2026 World Cup qualifier against Burkina Faso, with the decisive match scheduled for a 4:00 PM kickoff today at the SKD Sports Complex in Monrovia.
In their final preparations, the Sierra Leone national team took a light morning team walk to ensure players were relaxed, focused, and mentally prepared for the must-win showdown.
The team completed its final full training session on Tuesday evening, where the squad—a mix of experienced players and emerging talent—displayed strong focus and determination.

The Leone Stars are entering the match with renewed confidence, following their 2-0 victory over Ethiopia last month.
A win today against the Burkina Faso Stallions is essential to keep Sierra Leone’s World Cup qualification dreams alive and to move them into second place in the group standings.

Meanwhile, a separate Sierra Leone national youth team, the National U-17 Technical Team, is also in competition. Following a 1-1 draw against Senegal, Head Coach Konneh and his staff conducted a comprehensive match postmortem on Tuesday in Bamako, Mali, refining defensive and attacking strategies ahead of their crucial second group-stage match against Mauritania on Thursday.
