The Sierra Leone football Association has confirmed the appointment of experienced football expert Ajet Shehu
The newly appointed Technical Assistant of Sierra Leone’s National Football Team-Leone Stars has described the squad as ‘amazing’.
Speaking on his impression after two days of training, Ajet Shehu said: ”The boys worked very hard and executed the session’s drills well. The team has a lot of young, fast, determined, talented and hungry-for-goal players and that is good for the game. It makes the work of the technical team easier”.
When asked about the value he hopes to bring into the team, Ajet stated: ”I hope to bring in some new ideas to help the team reach the next level. As you are aware, the team is going through transition with a lot of new players coming. Hopefully it won’t be to long before you see the positive results”.
President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Thomas Daddy Brima gave his impression about Mr. Shehu: ”He is currently on contract. After these friendly matches, the SLFA will evaluate his work and decide our next plan of action together with the technical team of Coach John Keister. Personally, I’m impressed with his work so far”.
Ajet Shehu is a trained and qualified coach with the following credentials:
Football Level 3 (UEFA B)- Professional Football Association, Talent identification Level 1- The FA, Coaching Football Level 2 – Professional Football Association, Youth Modules 1&2- Professional Football Association, Personal Trainer Level 3 Apprenticeship- Lifetime Training and BTEC National Diploma in Sports Exercise- Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
The British born international has worked with Shadowing Premier League Clubs and Super Lig teams like Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and FK Gaziantep among others. He has coached professional players like Steven Caulker, Andros Townsend and more.
On his football playing career, Ajet played for Tottenham Hotspur between 2007-2009 before moving to Cheltenham Town FC in 2009/2010. In 2011-2012, he played for Gramozi Erseke FC in Albania and later made a move to Wingate and Finchley FC in the Ryman Premier in 2012/2013.
