The Sierra Leone national football team, Leone Stars, will step up preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with a series of friendly matches against top domestic clubs.
The Leone Stars are scheduled to face Sierra Leone Premier League champions East End Lions on Tuesday, 26 August 2025, followed by Bhantal FC on Wednesday, 27 August 2025. Both matches will be played at the Approved School grounds in Freetown and are open to the public with free admission.
According to team officials, the fixtures are designed to help the national side sharpen their tactics, build cohesion, and evaluate individual player performances ahead of crucial qualifiers against Guinea-Bissau and Ethiopia.
Football supporters are expected to turn out in numbers to watch the Leone Stars in action as the team continues preparations for their bid to secure a place at the 2026 World Cup.
