A delegation from Sierra Leone’s national football team, the Leone Stars, led by Head Coach Amidu Karim and Assistant Coach Francis “Zappa” Koroma, paid a visit to injured midfielder Mamoud Fofanah at his residence in Juba, Lumley.

Fofanah, who also plays for FC Kallon, is currently recovering from a severe ligament injury sustained during a training session ahead of the team’s doubleheader against Ivory Coast.

The visit demonstrated the team’s solidarity and support for the young player, who was unable to join his teammates for the crucial matches due to the injury.

As part of their gesture, the delegation presented Fofanah with a financial contribution of One Thousand Two Hundred United States Dollars ($1,200), equivalent to Twenty-Eight Thousand Eight Hundred New Leones (NLe 28,800).

The amount, raised by the players and officials, serves as a token of unity and care during Fofanah’s recovery.

This act of kindness reflects the close bond among team members and officials, emphasizing their commitment to looking after one another both on and off the field.

Fofanah’s injury is a setback for both the Leone Stars and FC Kallon, as he plays a key role in midfield. However, with the continued support of his teammates and coaches, the footballer is expected to recover fully and return to the pitch soon.

The Sierra Leone football community has also expressed their best wishes for Fofanah’s speedy recovery, underscoring the importance of the player to both his club and the national team.
