Liberia’s U-17 women’s national football team has kicked off training sessions at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in preparation for an upcoming friendly tournament in Sierra Leone.
The Sierra Leone Football Association extended an invitation to both Liberia’s U-17 and U-20 women’s teams to participate in the international women’s football tournament, taking place in Kenema City from March 1st to 8th, 2024.
Coinciding with International Women’s Day on March 8th, the tournament will also feature the U-17 and U-20 women’s national teams of Sierra Leone. This initiative serves as a strong representation of both countries uniting with the global community to advocate for gender equality and women’s empowerment.
The Liberia Football Association reports that Head Coach Sekou Mulbah of the U-17 women’s team expressed his enthusiasm for the competition, highlighting its potential to further prepare his players for the next stage of the World Cup qualifiers.
This tournament provides a valuable opportunity for young female athletes to showcase their skills and gain valuable experience while promoting gender equality in the world of football.
