2019 Sierra Leone Premier League winners East End Lions defeated rivals Ports Authority 2 goals to nil in the first Match of the second round of the Sierra Leone Premier on Friday.

There wasn’t much to play for in the second-half. However, Sulaiman Kargbo broke the deadlock in the 49th minutes with a bicycle kick shot that went past the Ports goalkeeper.

Kargbo was soon on target again ten minutes later after converting a pass from Mohamed Mansaray.

The Killers are third place with 30 points after 18 games. They are five points shy of CAF Confederation Cup place presently occupied by bitter rivals, Mighty Blackpool.

Lions have struggled all season to find the net -managing only 15 goals so far this season.

Ports have now received 12 goals, more than they received in last season at the same stage of the league. The Waterfront Boys are in 6th place with 25 points.

Both Lions and Ports have played one game more than all other teams except Real Republicans and Old Edwardians who also played to a goalless draw on Friday evening.

Meanwhile, FC Kallon Will host Port Loko based team, Bai Bureh Warriors at Angola Playing Field. The Cavaliers are in 4th position after 17 games. The team lost their last match of the season’s first leg earlier this week against struggling Wusum Stars.

Kallons’ fans attributed the loss to the absence of several first team players who are participating in youth competition in Italy.
