Luawa Football Club, hailing from the Eastern District of Kailahun, is beaming with gratitude as they express their heartfelt thanks to the players and fans who have been unwavering in their support throughout the premier league season.

This immense support has played a pivotal role in securing the team’s spot in the upcoming season.

The Sierra Leone Premier League witnessed intense competition this season, with three teams representing the Eastern Region. Among them were Kamboi Eagles from the Regional Headquarter Town of Kenema, Diamond Stars from Kono, and Luawa FC from Kailahun.

After an intense battle on the field, two out of the three teams have successfully secured a place in the next season’s league. However, Kamboi Eagles, unfortunately, faced relegation, finishing at the 17th position with 38 points.

Diamond Stars, representing Kono district, put up an impressive performance, securing the 5th position with 47 points. Meanwhile, Luawa FC, based in Kailahun, ended their season at the 12th position with 40 points, ensuring their spot in the upcoming season.

A notable aspect of Luawa FC is the presence of complete football academy divisions, including 2nd and 3rd divisions, U15, U12, U10, and a dedicated female category. The club’s management is highly optimistic about the team’s potential for great representation from the Eastern Region and their chances of clinching victory in the successive league.

Throughout the 34 matches played in the season, Luawa FC showcased their determination, securing 10 wins, 10 draws, and 14 losses. The team’s commitment and hard work have paid off, earning them a well-deserved place in the highly anticipated next season of the Sierra Leone Premier League.
