Former Sierra Leone Olympian Maggie Barrie has cited administrative errors on the part of Sierra Leone Sporting Authorities serves as a major factor that led to her recent resignation as an athlete for the country.
In an interview with a Sierra Leonean female Sport Journalist Magdalene Konneh, Barrie Clears the air that after the mishaps at the Olympic with the Sierra Leone Athletics administration entering her in the 400 metres, she confirms that she just didn’t have the energy to enter into the sport any longer .
She emphasized that there is so much Pushbacks for them as young athletes to do well in this country.
However, she urges the Sierra Leone athletics administration to take care of their current crop of young Athletes. She emphasized that Some of these Athletes have so much potentials and are coming into the global stage.She considers herself as case study being a professional athlete at the age of 25 years.
Barrie stated that during the World Championship in London, there’s also an administrative error on the Part of the Sierra Leone Authorities. She concluded by describing the track as her first love.
