Kazakhstan Premier League club FC Zhetysu Taldykorgan has officially announced the signing of Sierra Leonean international forward Mohamed Buya Turay as part of efforts to strengthen their attacking force for the remainder of the season.

The 29-year-old striker, known for his explosive pace, physical presence, and clinical finishing, joins the Kazakh side with a rich résumé that spans top-flight football in Europe and Asia. His arrival is expected to add depth and firepower to Zhetysu’s frontline as the club pushes for a strong finish in the league.

In a statement released by the club, FC Zhetysu expressed delight at securing Buya Turay’s signature, describing him as a valuable addition who brings not only skill but also international experience.

Turay, a prolific goal scorer, brings a wealth of international experience, having played in top European leagues.

His most notable stint was in Sweden, where he won the 2019 Allsvenskan Golden Boot while playing for Djurgårdens IF. In 2022, he joined Malmö FF, featuring in the UEFA Europa League, where he scored once in five appearances.

Before moving to Kazakhstan, he recently had a short stint in Nepal and also played for Birmingham Legion in the United States, adding to his diverse football journey. His signing is expected to bolster FC Zhetysu’s attacking options as they aim for success in the league’s third season.
