Former Leone Stars Captain Mohamed Kallon has reacted to a recent Press Release issued by Sierra Leone Football Association about his CAF Suspension.
In his reaction, the FC Kallon Coach asked a question that “When 3 million Dollars for females got missing did they issue a press release?”
The said question by the coach insinuates that missing funds amounting to 3millon dollars from the SLFA account meant for female football went missing without public knowledge.
He further stated that when his team FC Kallon made history nobody posted it. He added that the last time a Club from Sierra Leone won home and away in CAF competition was three decades ago and that was when Mighty Blackpool and East End Lions were at their best.
He emphasized that when they received a communique of a sanction against FC Kallon a majority of the football Association staff and the General Secretary posted it.
However, according to the said press release by Sierra Leone, Football Association dated 21st December 2022, states that “In the case of Match 68, Future FC (Egypt) vs. Kallon FC (Sierra Leone) which played in the frame of the CAF Confederation Cup, 2022-2023, the CAF Disciplinary Board on Monday the 28th November 2022 met and took a decision to;
(I) Suspend the Coach Mr Mohamed Kallon as well as the Team Doctor Mr Chernor Cidy Bah for their next four (4) CAF inter-club matches.
(II)The Board also decided to impose upon each of the two Kallon FC officials a financial sanction of 10,000 USD (Ten Thousand Dollars) each, for their offensive behaviour toward the referees of the match. The said amount must be paid within 60 days of the date the decision was taken (28th November 2022).”
The said match 68 was part of the CAF Confederations Cup, Qualification. Future FC dumped FC Kallon out of the competition with a 6-0 aggregate.
Meanwhile, the Former Leone Stars Captain and FC Kallon Coach has accepted full responsibility for this decision by the Confederation of African Football Disciplinary Body.
