Former Leone Stars Head Coach Mohamed Kallon has confirmed that he has formally applied for reappointment as head coach of the Sierra Leone senior national men’s team, stating that his submission followed all official procedures set by the football authorities.

In a Facebook post, Kallon disclosed that his application was submitted through the official channels of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), including its General Secretary and official email system.

He stressed that the ongoing recruitment process for the vacant head coach position is a standard administrative procedure and should be treated as such, adding that his decision to apply reflects professional compliance as a licensed coach.

“For the record, as a licensed coach, it is professional standard and compliance to submit my application and credentials through the official process,” he stated, emphasizing that the move was about adherence to procedure.

Kallon further urged supporters to keep him in their prayers as he awaits the outcome of the process, noting: “Fingers crossed. Put me in your prayers.”

He also reaffirmed his commitment to the country despite past challenges, adding: “I will always put mama Salone first.”

Following his dismissal from the role, Kallon had previously denied any wrongdoing and called for his reinstatement, maintaining his position that he remains available to serve national football.

The Sierra Leone Football Association is expected to carefully review all applications submitted through its official recruitment process before compiling a shortlist of qualified candidates for interviews and subsequent stages of selection.

The development comes as the association continues its search for a new head coach for the national team, Leone Stars, ahead of upcoming international assignments.
