Sierra Leone national team and Bo Rangers FC striker, Musa Noah Kamara commonly known as Musa Tombo and his wife Hawa Tombo visited Tombo Community with high reception.
They were given a warm reception by the community people. The couple drove through the community and to the market. Musa was received by Council of Imams to a gathering where an Islamic ceremony (Sara) was performed for him.
Musa Tombo is known for being the highest goal scorer at the Sierra Leone Premier League and the first goal scorer at the Africa Cup of Nation (AFCON) in Cameroon. His performance at the AFCON was celebrated by many Sierra Leoneans and his goal was awarded as ‘The Goal of The Day’. The team landed in Sierra Leone on Saturday 22nd January 2022 after they were defeated by Equatorial Guinea by one goal which led to their exit from the tournament
Tombo is a coastal fishing town located on the southern coast of the Western Area Rural District of Sierra Leone. The town is approximately 30 miles east of Freetown. The major industry in Tombo is fishing. Other industries in the town include coal mining and farming.
Musa, who made impressive performance at the AFCON visited his community where he grew up. The name of his community “Tombo” was attached to his name which he accepted and proud of.
