Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai Esq. officially assumed his role as Executive Director of the Sierra Leone National Sports Authority (NSA) in a ceremony held on Monday, April 15th, 2024.

Dr. Abdulai emphasized the importance of professionalism and integrity in a speech, highlighting accountability to the people of Sierra Leone. “We must embrace professionalism and integrity in all our endeavors,” he declared. “It is essential that we are transparent and accountable to the citizens of this country.”

The NSA’s new leader also stressed the potential of sports as a source of employment. “As an Authority, we should be seen as a provider of employment and opportunities,” he stated.

In his address to staff, the outgoing Executive Director, Dr. Kenneth Brima, warmly welcomed Dr. Abdulai. “He is a brother, and we have collaborated in the past,” Dr. Brima said. “With his administrative knowledge, I have no doubt that he will succeed in leading the Authority forward.”

Dr. Brima urged staff to fully support Dr. Abdulai, aiming to elevate the NSA to new heights. He also expressed his gratitude to President Bio for the opportunity to serve the government and the people of Sierra Leone.

President Julius Maada Bio recently appointed Dr. Abdulai, a seasoned lawyer and football administrator, to head the National Sports Authority. Dr. Abdulai brings extensive knowledge, particularly in football administration at all levels, from grassroots to professional leagues.
