Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, the Executive Director of the National Sports Authority (NSA), will deliver a significant public lecture at the University of Namibia on September 16, 2024.

The lecture, titled “Sports Law, Governance, and Reforms in Africa,” will explore the legal frameworks and governance structures impacting the sports industry across the continent.

Dr. Abdulai’s lecture will focus on current issues and reforms that aim to enhance transparency and effectiveness in sports administration. His discussion will include insights into ongoing initiatives designed to address public concerns regarding sports participation and management.

This upcoming lecture marks Dr. Abdulai’s debut international address since he took the helm of the NSA. The University of Namibia has highlighted his leadership as pivotal in advancing sports development and governance throughout Africa. According to a statement from the University’s Marketing, Logistics, and Sport Management Department, Dr. Abdulai is recognized for his visionary approach, which views sports as a unifying element in national and societal cohesion.

Earlier this year, Dr. Abdulai engaged ten law graduates to help draft new legal frameworks aimed at bolstering sports law and instilling ethical practices within the sector. This initiative is a key part of a broader effort to revolutionize sports governance in Sierra Leone.

The NSA, established by parliamentary act, is tasked with overseeing and enhancing sports activities in Sierra Leone, further emphasizing the importance of effective governance and reform in the field.
