Owner and Chief Executive of Sierra Leone Premier League Club, Mohamed Kallon says it was their game plan to get and sustain a goal against Benin Le Buffles du Borgou and it worked well for them.
Kallon who was part of the FC Kallon technical team saw his club secure a 1-0 away victory but also an away goal in their favour.
“It was a very exciting and intense match, the intensity was very high and I have to congratulate the technical team and players of Buffles, they are an experienced side,” Kallon said
“I know it was going to be a difficult match because we watched 4 or 5 videos of their previous matches and it was difficult to contain them, but we had our objective which was to get a goal and play low block and it works well for us.”
Philip Conteh scored the only goal of the match in the 64th minute to give the away side an advantage going to the second leg encounter to be hosted at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Liberia on the 17th of September 2022.
The win was also FC Kallon’s first-ever away win in the African interclub competition since they first participated in the CAF Tournament in 2007.
Meanwhile, the winner between FC Kallon and Buffles will have to face the winner between BIDCO Uganda Limited Jinja and Future FC of Egypt
