The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Thomas Daddy Brima has on the 5th of July 2023 disclosed several projects which his administration is set to complete in a short time.

He made this disclosure at the statutory Ordinary Congress at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Freetown which was also witnessed by the Minister of Sports Ibrahim Nyelenkeh, Executive Director of the National Sports Authority Dr. Kenneth Brima, and the President of the National Olympic Committee Prince Suallay.

In his keynote address, SLFA President Thomas Daddy Brima disclosed to Congress several developmental projects that will soon be implemented by his Executive Committee, among which is a full package of artificial turf, floodlight, perimeter fence, 100KVA generator, and 100-seater pavilion at the SLFA Academy Field, Approved School Field, Port Loko Town Field, and Bo Coronation Field.

He added that as part of the same projects, the Kono artificial turf pitch will be renovated with a perimeter fence whiles the Kenema pitch will be equipped with standard floodlights.

The said projects are set to commence in August 2023 as the Netherland-based contractors representing Edel Grass are expected to arrive in Freetown on Friday, July 7th, 2023 to complete the necessary documentation.

These are welcoming plans for the football arena in the country with many football fans anticipating a brighter future for the game in the country in the shortest possible time.

He said they are entitled to $3m from FIFA which may be used for infrastructural development and that money may be used to achieve its actual purpose.
