A joint Press Release from the National Sports Authority (NSA) and the Ministry of Sports dated 24th August 2022, urge the SLFA to put forward the outcome of those results in other to keep the integrity of the game, after the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) had strongly condemned the outcome of the Eastern Region Super Ten Competition matches comprised two fixtures which produced mouthwatering results wherein Kahunla FC won by a 95-0 against Lumbebu United, and Gulf FC 91-1 victory against Koquima Lebanon FC respectively and suspended all the officials of the above clubs.
In an exclusive interview with NewsFeed Sierra Leone, the National Sports Authority (NSA) Head of Media and Communication Eric Fomba disclosed that the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has handed over the investigation outcome as part of the NSA directives, “we received a comprehensive report of the investigation outcome from the SLFA two days after the joint Press Release by the NSA and the Ministry of Sports directs the FA to submit the outcome of the investigation before the commencement of the National Playoffs” he confirmed.
Mr. Fomba further highlighted that, the NSA decided to mute informing the public in its usual Press Release due to the different communication methods available “the National Sports Authority doesn’t publish a Release in that regard because the SLFA decides to act internally and administratively, as we acknowledge on the same means” he justified
NewsFeed Sierra Leone established the fact that the request was not made internally why does the report acknowledge that trajectory, also reached out to the Sierra Leone Football Association for its reply, and to inform the public about such an eye-catching investigation, no one is there to talk.
Meanwhile, NSA declined to talk about the findings as they are not obliged to do it, as a regulating agency they have gotten what they requested.
Fans speaking to NewsFeed Sierra Leone, expressed dismay after the matches were replayed Gulf FC participated in the just concluded playoff without revealing the outcome of the investigation and accused the SLFA as corrupt and lacking a good leadership display upon having a new FA president after the previous head of the FA was all over the news for corruption allegations and this is not what some of them were expecting from Thomas Daddy Brima leadership.
