Executive members of the Sierra Leone Dancesport paid a courtesy call on the Executive Director of National Sports Authority, Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai at his Signal Hill Road Office on Friday 14th February 2025.

The purpose of the meeting was to familiarize themselves, and to formally congratulate Dr. Abdulai on his appointment as Executive Director of the NSA after his appointment nine months ago by his Excellency President, Dr. Julius Maada Bio.

Daniel Sillah, the Public Relations Officer of the Association formally presented the team to the NSA Boss and stated that they have been craving to meet with.

The Secretary General of the association, Saidu Koroma said that the Sierra Leone Dancesport was established in 2018 with the primary objective to promote dance as a viable professional career for young people, focusing on its development as a sport rather than a mere entertainment.

Koroma further stated that they have been seeking support as their organization intends to host its national dancing competition amongst schools, starting with the Western Area and later the provinces aiming to scoop talents for international competitions.

Welcoming the association Dr. Abdulai expressed excitement for meeting with the executive members, especially when the Authority is prioritizing crowded sports, emphasising the President agenda to ensure young people are engaged in various sporting activities.

He encouraged them to organize themselves as the NSA will open doors where support is needed to promote their association.

The Deputy Chairman of the Association, in his concluding remarks said they have successfully identified and nurtured talents among the youth, including university students, and providing them with a platform to showcase their skills throughout the country.
