The Government of Sierra Leone through the Ministry of Finance has announced a  Le48.3 billion financing package for the Leone Stars participation in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon.

Of the 48.3 billion leones, the Ministry of Finance has disbursed Le27.4 billion to the National Sports Authority for the pretournament preparation, allowances, chattered flight, match bonuses and the facilitation for 70 supporters to Cameroon.

The Ministry also informs the public that match appearance fees for players is $3,000 plus a bonus of $1,500 for draw and $4,500 for a win in the group stage.

The Ministry states that match appearance fees for the Round of 16 is $4,000, Quarter Final is $5,000, Semi Final is $8,000 and Grand Final is $10,000 with a winning bonus of $4,500.
