The Sierra Leone U19 Men’s Cricket team has today 1st October, defeated Rwanda in their opening match in the ICC Men’s Under 19 World Cup Africa Division 2 Qualifier in Abuja.
Led by captain John Bangura, Sierra Leone secured 57 runs and four wickets while Rwanda got only 56 runs. Having won the toss, John Sierra Leone was first allowed to Bowl
The team has secured its first win ahead of the clash with Botswana on Monday and hosts Nigeria on Wednesday in Group B.
Sierra Leone with Rwanda clashed in an adjusted fixture. The team was supposed to play Botswana but following the late arrival of the Bostwanans, the fixture was adjusted for them to face Rwanda.

It’s been confirmed that Ghana and Mozambique will not be coming , leaving group A with only two teams Kenya and Malawi.
The ICC will determine what happens in group A with regards qualification to the Semis.
