The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has officially lifted the administrative suspension placed on the head coach of the country’s U-17 female national team, Fatmata Turay.

In a press release dated March 12, 2026, the football governing body announced that the decision followed a review conducted by its Technical Committee into the circumstances surrounding the earlier disciplinary action.

According to the association, the committee examined the issues that led to the suspension and submitted recommendations to the SLFA leadership. After considering the findings, the association decided to issue a formal warning to the coach but concluded that no further disciplinary action was necessary.

With the suspension now lifted, Turay has been reinstated to her role and is expected to immediately resume her duties. These include inviting players to a national training camp as preparations begin for the upcoming U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifying match against Ivory Coast scheduled for next month.

The SLFA reaffirmed its commitment to due process, transparency, and maintaining high professional standards in the administration of football across the country.

The statement was signed by Lamin Tarawalie, the association’s Media and Marketing Officer.
