On Friday, August 9, 2024, the Technical Department of the West African Football Union (UFOA-A) organized an experience-sharing workshop in Bo, Sierra Leone, as part of the CAF Women’s Champions League UFOA-A Qualifier.
This workshop brought together tournament coaches and local coaches for an exchange of ideas and practices aimed at enhancing the quality of women’s football in the region.
The event marked the culmination of a series of developmental initiatives, following closely on the heels of the Safeguarding Workshop and the Capacity Building Workshop for Female Football Club Administrators.
These previous sessions focused on ensuring the safety and well-being of players and strengthening the administrative capabilities of club officials, respectively.
The experience-sharing workshop provided a platform for coaches from participating teams to share insights and strategies honed through their experiences in the tournament. Local coaches benefited from the exposure to diverse coaching methods, tactical approaches, and player management techniques, which are critical for the advancement of women’s football in Sierra Leone and the broader West African region.
