The Head Coach of the Sierra Leone Under-17 side Mohamed Lamin Kamara has expressed confidence in clinching the Ministry of Sports in partnership with the Sierra Sports Paladin national sports awards best coach category.

Mohamed Lamin Kamara is also the Secretary-General of the Sierra Leone Coaches Association before his appointment with the Sierra Leone Under-17 side, he was the head coach of East End Lions FC during the second round of the 2021/22 league season.

He became the first to record a win for East End Lions against Kamboi Eagles at the Kenema City field in over three decades, with an unbeaten run in his first eleven games securing wins against top sides Bo Rangers league champions, FC Kallon and guided the team finished in the second position with sixty-two (62) points.

Since the introduction of the MRI, Kamara during his first major assignment with the Sierra Leone Under-17 team became the first to win a match, and reach the WAFU semifinals, and also the first coach in Sierra Leone to defeat Morocco.

Kamara disclosed that the award also serves as a huge motivation noting “The nomination means a lot to me. It speaks volumes about my achievement so far and defines the effort I have put into the coaching. I was not expecting such but it’s a dream come true to be considered nationwide for such an award” he asserted.
