Following a 4-0 defeat by the Bafana Bafana of South Africa, Leone Stars Coach John Keister has reacted that if we don’t get it right in terms of preparations, this is what going to happen.
The gaffer was speaking in a post match interview where he stated that ” I don’t think we deserve to get anything out of this today, that’s being honest. I don’t think we did enough, I am the coach, it’s going to come back to me. But the reality is there. If we don’t get it right in terms of our preparations, this is what gonna happen. They look sharper and more comfortable, we are just tired. Tired players, its understandable but it’s football.”
Keister further added that “The reality is, we looked very tired. You can’t have players hanging around hotels waiting for visas all week. What do you expect if we train for just 1 hour, not even hour, a week to face a decent side.”
Leone Stars last outing was in June where they played out a 2-2 draw with Guinea Bissau – as their chances of qualifying for Cote d’Ivoire 2023 look shaky.
On a positive side, this game served as an opportunity for coach John Keister to identify the team weaknesses.
Regardless of the result, the Leone Stars would be aiming to put their squad in good shape for their next competitive outing against Sao Tome and Principe
