Leone Stars is in the same group with the desert foxes of Algeria. The reigning African champions will face Leone Stars in Cameroon  on  January 11th  2022 in the African Cup Of Nations Tournament.

The Desert Foxes, who defeated Senegal in Cairo in July 2019 to become African champions a second time, last lost a competitive match in October 2018 , away to Benin.The team has currently  gone 32 games unbeaten in competitive and friendly matches and including a thrashing of Colombia in France.

At the moment, Algeria has a very good squad. The team is well known for their exceptional performances in home and away matches. This team has been together for quite a long time now.

The Algerian Football Association started nursing this team  since  they were eliminated in the round of 16  in the then 2014 World Cup  tournament By Germany. After the World Cup elimination, the  FA kept the team together and later changed the Manager.

Djamel Belmadi is the current coach of the foxes. He was the Captain  of the team in the 2004 African Cup Of Nations and  had also won the Cup of Nations with the team in 2019.
