Sierra Leone National Football team Head Coach, John Keister has given reasons for dropping ace Bo Rangers Striker, Musa Noah Kamara (Musa Tombo) from the Sierra Leone squad to face Benin on Monday.
The withdrawal of the Tombo, who was also awarded as the Sierra Leone Premier League player of the month has attracted wide criticisms from football fans in the country.
In a zoom interview on Saturday morning, Keister said Musa was dropped for obvious reasons adding that there are players who can perform better than him.
“Musa was excluded because of an obvious reason, I’ve got players who can perform better than him, I’ve got players who shown masterpiece in Nigeria and here in Freetown, so there are other players who can do better for now”, Keister said.
Meanwhile, Babadi Kamara, the Executive Chairman of Bo Rangers Football Club has spoken following the withdrawal of ace Striker, Musa Noah Kamara (Musa Tombo) from the Sierra Leone national team.
In a statement on Friday, Kamara appealed to fans to respect the decision of the coach and support the national team.
JK, your discission is baseless, you saying that there are better players than Musa Tombo.😠.
Let us get behind the team…that’s the most important until we are through to the AFCON.
This is not just taking the toys out of the param. This is a situation where in Leone star needs players like Musa Tombo if we definitely wants to qualify…. Kung nu
I can’t believe this Coach could say this
Musa Tombo is one of the best home base player at the moment
No coach at his or her right mind could drop Musa Tombo base on the reason that you gave
You have another motive you just don’t like the player just say it to the public
But I guess you have to put the country first.
Sorry to say but this is the most stupid excuses I have read concerning dropping Musa Tombo, it’s not clear at all. Seeing him performing at highest form in work rate in the SLPL, and all you can say there are player’s better than him, it’s not about being in the big leagues but consistently performance and Musa have proven such in the home league. This is sad for Sierra Leone football, you ought to know better John or Keister. Shame on you!!!!
