WhatsApp has rolled out 6 emojis which can be used by the users to react to a message sent in an individual or group chat. Mark Zuckerberg took to his Facebook page to make the announcement.
Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg has announced new WhatsApp reactions to be rolled out today.
WhatsApp, one of the most prominent messaging and chatting applications, has rolled out the ability to react to a message with emoji. WhatsApp users can now also send files within the app up to 2GB in size at a time.
It can be known that the file size has been increased from the previous limit of 100MB. Along with the reactions, increase in the size of files sharing limit, the application is also rolling out the ability to add up to 512 people to a group.
Informing about the roll out of reactions, Mark Zuckerberg, Founder and CEO at Meta posted on Facebook, “Reactions on WhatsApp start rolling out today 👍❤️😂😮😢🙏.”
While WhatsApp tweeted, “In 2011 we introduced Group Chats, and we haven’t stopped improving since. In the coming weeks, we’ll roll out the ability to share files up to 2GB and add more people to your groups so you can continue creating and nurturing meaningful, private connections.”
As of now 6 emojis can be used for reacting to a message. The 6 emojis include- Like, Love (Red heart), Laugh, Surprised, Sad, and Thanks. More expressions will be added soon, informed Zuckerberg. “We’re including 🙏 to help spread thanks and appreciation. More expressions coming soon,” he said on Facebook.
“We’re excited to share that emoji reactions are now available on the latest version of the app. Reactions are fun, fast, and they reduce overload in groups too. We’ll continue improving them by adding an even broader range of expressions in the future,” WhatsApp said in a blog post.
How to react to a message on WhatsApp
Step 1: WhatsApp users can react to both- messages sent in an individual chat and in a group chat.
Step 2: All you need to do is tap and hold a message bubble you want to react to.
Step 3: You will see the options of emojis you can send to react. You can react to a message by choosing any of the emojis provided.
Step 4: WhatsApp users can also see who reacted to any incoming and outgoing message by clicking the reaction icon. You will receive a push notification every time someone reacts to your messages, according to the information provided by WABetaInfo in a report.
