Sierra Leone’s opposition All People’s Congress (APC) has elected Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray to take the seat of chairman of the party.

Mansaray defeated four other candidates to emerge the winner at the party’s national delegates conference ongoing in Makeni.

Five candidates participated in the election including Dauda Tombo Bangura, Ibrahim Rassin Bundu, Abdul Kareem Kalokoh, Alhaji Minkailu Mansary and Alimamy Coleson Turay.

Mansaray gained 1,354 votes to defeat Dauda Tombo Bangura who got 35 votes while Ibrahim Rassin Bundu polled 13 votes.

Others are Abdul Kareem Kalokoh polled 255 votes and Alimamy Coleson Turay who got 22 votes
