Sierra Leonean Afrobeat Singer, Gibrill Aruna Kargbo popularly known Coco Rhymes has announced release of a new single ‘Slow Poison’ which will be premiered on his forthcoming birthday – November 10, 2020.
Speaking exclusively to Sierealoaded, the ‘U Mama Know’ Singer said Slow Poison describes one’s feeling upon discovery of a partner you are passionate about.
“The song talks about love and lovers. There are certain feelings one should never be able to stand neither resist. You would be enough to be yourself, but when it comes to real feeling, you never be who you used to be,” Coco Rhymes said while confirming that the song will featured his fellow musical genius, Succulent.
Kargbo said the new single has undergone the recording stage and is now under final production in preparation for its release. It will add to the list of enlightening and inspirational songs that the ‘RnB’ singer has dished out to the delight of Sierra Leoneans.
Earlier this year, the salone music star released a sensitization song to inform and educate Sierra Leoneans on preventive measures against Coronavirus. The music prodigy has also featured Star Zee in ‘Na Malice’; Bed & Strokes in ‘U Mama Know’, and we are now anticipating ‘Slow Poison’ which features Succulent.
Kargbo kicked off his musical career in 2015 having being motivated by friends and families who often applaud his melodious voice and musical talents. He told Sierraloaded that He was also motivated by his grandfather, who had been a musician, who used to play the Condi, a local musical string instrument made with a length of wood fitted to a gourd holding a string which runs from the gourd to the tip of the length of wood.
One of his previous works ‘U Mama Know’, addresses the menace of drug abuse by young people in the Sierra Leone. Others songs which has received wide appeal among Sierra Leoneans home and abroad includes ‘One Fine Day’, ‘Woman Nor to Man Padi’, ’Booty Bag’, and ‘U Dae Witch’.
