Stakeholders in Kambia District have pledged their commitment to sustainable tourism following the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs’ nationwide Nature-Based Ecotourism Digital Training.

The program intended to increase local ability, also addressing the need of protecting natural and cultural resources for economic and environmental stability.

In Kambia, the participation fostered wide support for ecotourism as a feasible development strategy.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Paramount Chief Member of Parliament identified Kambia’s rich historical and natural endowments, as untapped prospects for tourism investment.

He showed his support by signing the Ecotourism Pledge Banner, which strengthened his commitment to sustainable tourism in the district and across the country.

Other stakeholders also signed the promise, showing a concerted effort to present Kambia as a thriving ecotourism destination.

The project is constant with government initiatives to encourage responsible tourism and inclusive growth through the preservation of the country’s environmental and cultural heritage.
