Sierra Leone has successfully ended 2025 without experiencing fuel shortages, marking a historic achievement, according to Presidential Spokesman, Hon. Alpha Kanu.
In an interview with Liberty Online TV, Kanu highlighted that this year’s festive season was free from the fuel scarcity that had plagued previous years.
Many fuel stations had traditionally either closed or reduced operations during this period, but Kanu emphasized that for the first time, fuel availability remained stable throughout the country.
“For the first time, Sierra Leone ends the year without fuel shortages,” Kanu said, attributing the development to improved planning and system management.
Kanu also discussed other key improvements in 2025, particularly for teachers, commercial motorbike riders, and market women.
He assured that teachers, who had previously raised concerns about salary increases being only reflected on paper, would now receive the promised payments.
Kanu further pointed to the government’s broader efforts to stabilize essential services and enhance economic opportunities for citizens.
He expressed confidence that these practical improvements would continue to benefit Sierra Leoneans across various sectors in the coming years.
