The National Public Procurement Authority (NPPA) has announced a mandatory shift to digital registration for all suppliers, contractors, and consultants seeking to do business with the government of Sierra Leone.
Effective immediately, all registrations, renewals, and record updates must be conducted exclusively through the new online Electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) Portal. The Authority announced that the portal will be officially accessible to the public starting Monday, January 5, 2026, via www.egp.nppa.gov.sl.
This directive, grounded in Regulation 10(2) of the Public Procurement Regulations, 2020, is part of the government’s broader strategy to modernize the public procurement system. The NPPA stated that the initiative aims to enhance transparency, efficiency, and accountability while improving access to procurement services nationwide.
Registration Requirements and Fees
The Authority issued a reminder that the National Registration Certificate is valid for one calendar year, from January 1 to December 31. Consequently, all businesses must renew their registration annually to remain eligible for government contracts.
To register on the new portal, applicants are required to upload PDF scans of the following documents:
- Valid Corporate Affairs Registration Certificate
- NRA Tax Clearance
- NASSIT Clearance Certificate
- Local Council Licence (where applicable)
The registration fee has been set at Le 1,000 for national businesses and $200 for foreign businesses.
The NPPA has issued a strict directive to all Procuring Entities to ensure compliance with the new system. Entities are instructed to engage only with suppliers, contractors, and consultants who are registered and validly listed on the e-GP Portal.
For assistance with the new process, businesses are advised to visit the NPPA head office at Tower Hill, Freetown, or its regional offices in Bo, Kenema, and Makeni
