Former housemate Aminata Abdulai, popularly known as Aminish, has revealed that her decision to participate in the popular reality television show was driven by a desire to challenge stereotypes and prove that young people from rural communities can succeed when given the opportunity.

Speaking on Liberty Online TV, Aminish said she proudly identifies as a “village child” and remains deeply connected to her roots. “Everyone who knows me understands that I am unapologetic about my background and where I come from,” she said.

She explained that while self-promotion was part of her journey in the house, her bigger motivation was representation. “I went there not just for myself, but to represent young people from rural districts. I wanted to open the eyes of other youths to see that these platforms are open to everyone. You just have to believe in yourself.”

Aminish noted that youths from rural areas are often looked down upon and made to feel that opportunities are reserved for city dwellers. “I wanted people to see that someone from a rural district can be educated, even if not highly educated, and still have talent,” she said. “What we often lack is not ability, but opportunity and financial support, which are more available in the city.”

She added that her participation was also meant to inspire youths from different districts to rise above societal limitations and believe in their potential.

Aminish concluded that her goal was to change perceptions and encourage a new generation of rural youths to pursue opportunities without fear, proving that background should never define one’s future.
