Sierra Leone’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Timothy Musa Kabba, has arrived in Bogotá to represent President Julius Maada Bio at the CELAC–Africa High-Level Forum.

Minister Kabba is attending the forum on behalf of President Bio, who currently serves as Chair of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government. His participation underscores Sierra Leone’s active role in advancing regional and international diplomacy on key global issues.

The high-level engagement, organized under the framework of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, marks a significant step toward deepening cooperation between African nations and countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. The forum is expected to foster dialogue on shared priorities, including economic development, trade, climate action, and sustainable partnerships.

According to Minister Kabba, the initiative reflects a broader shift among countries in the Global South to strengthen alliances beyond traditional North–South dynamics. He noted that the forum emphasizes mutual development, equality, and multilateral solidarity, key pillars driving contemporary international cooperation among developing regions.

The CELAC–Africa High-Level Forum is seen as a milestone platform for enhancing bi-regional ties, creating new opportunities for collaboration, and promoting a unified voice on global challenges affecting both regions.
